Founder of CEFA- European Committee for the Training and Agriculture (1972), NGO operational still today in the Balkans, in South America and in the sub-Saharan Africa As a member of the European Parliament he was vice president of the Committee on Development and Cooperation. In the context of international solidarity he gave to the Fondazione Nord Sud (1997) - today Fondazione Giovanni Bersani Nord Sud.
