Coop Italy


 
 

It’s a system of cooperatives that manages a net of supermarkets, convenience stores and hypermarkets in almost every Italian region (especially in the centre-north).

It’s created in 1967 as a national consortium for every Italian consumers’ cooperative in order to facilitate a better contractual capacity towards the suppliers.

Ivano Barberini: ”The adoption of the COOP logo was a part of a lucid strategic planning, pursued with ductility and tenacity. The COOP logo had a double meaning: it communicated the modernisation of the sales network and its national dimension beyond the limits of the single cooperative. It’s been over twenty years that the cooperative logo is well known by 90% of the Italian population ”.
