In the mirror of time: don Lorenzo Guetti and the migrations of yesterday and today
The Foundation in collaboration with don Lorenzo Guetti yesterday today and tomorrow association, the intercommunal library of Giudicarie Esteriori and the library of Tione, wanted to attract interest in the Giudicarie community on the issue of migrations through this project.
The updating was carried on through the research and comparison of Guetti’s testimonies with articles of nowadays newspapers. The output that was obtained was used for planning the exhibition (and not only, considering that the collection of Guetti’s scripts were systematised and inserted in the book “Scripts on emigration”). 10 panels were displayed and splitted into sub-themes:
1) Introduction;
2) The journey;
3) Arrival and hospitality;
4) Countries that die and countries that are reborn;
5) A job in order to live;
6) People from Trentino in the world: yesterday and today;
7) Brain-drain;
8) Unaccompanied minors and school;
9) Communication ;
10) Thoughts and opinions.
Among the direct beneficiaries of the project there are the 3 girls of Giudicarie who collaborated on the project, the middle school students of the valley who could visit the exhibition and took part in the reading of the dialogues (124 boys/girls), the 16 people who attended the first reading meeting on 8th September, the 67 people who took part in the inauguration on 16th November, all of the people of the valley and the tourists who had the chance to visit the exhibition (circa 600 people) during these 3 months.
